1. Avoid washing your hair for 24-48 hours after your service. This will allow the color or treatment to fully set and prevent fading or damage.
2. Use a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner specifically formulated for color-treated hair. Avoid using hot water, as it can cause color to fade faster. Lukewarm or cool water is best.
3. Always use a leave-in conditioner on towel dried hair to protect it while detangling and heat-styling. This is my must have product for every client.
4. Use a wide-toothed comb or ‘WET BRUSH' to detangle your hair gently, starting at the ends and working your way up to the roots. Avoid using a regular brush on wet hair, as it can cause breakage.
5. Avoid using heat-styling tools or exposing your hair to direct sunlight for at least 48 hours after your service. This includes blow-drying, flat ironing, and curling your hair.
6. Use hair mask or deep conditioning treatment once a week (or more) to nourish and strengthen your hair.
7. Protect your hair from chlorine or saltwater when swimming. Wear a swim cap and apply a leave in conditioner before entering the water.
8. Satin is your best friend, because it will not absorb the moisture from your hair. Use satin scrunchies to pull your hair up, and a satin bonnet/pillowcase when you sleep.
9. If you experience any itching or discomfort after your service, contact your stylist or salon for advice. Avoid scratching or rubbing your scalp, as this can cause irritation or damage.
10. Get regular haircuts to maintain your hairstyle and prevent split ends. Your hair artist can recommend a schedule based on your hair type and style.
11. Follow any additional instructions or recommendations provided by your hair artist, such as avoiding certain products or treatments.
